About The Role
We’re looking to bring on a freelance technical marketer to lead our web optimization efforts. This role includes one part web analytics, one part technical SEO, and one part AI experimentation. This is a hands-on role focused on experimentation and building systems—not meetings or busywork. You should be comfortable setting up tracking, launching tests, and building workflows.
The ideal person is excited about diving into AI and building AI agents for our sales and marketing initiatives. In other words, you’ll get paid to grow your skills and knowledge in an area of marketing that’s increasing in demand, while collaborating with and learning from a collegial team of channel experts.
This is an ongoing contract role (approximately 15-25 hours per week). As a contractor, you won’t be viewed as a line item or second-class citizen. Instead, you’ll play an integral role on our marketing team. At the same time, we also appreciate that you likely have other projects you’re juggling and a life outside of work. We’ll provide you with the flexibility you need to manage your schedule and other priorities.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze website analytics and user behavior to provide strategic recommendations
- Launch A/B tests using VWO, Optimizely, or a similar tool
- Partner with web developer on crawlability, indexing, and technical fixes
- Collaborate with performance marketer to optimize campaigns (e.g. UTM parameters, conversion tracking, etc.)
- Own the ongoing setup and optimization of tracking within Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
- Identify and deploy AI across the full marketing and sales stack — from voice agents to lead follow-ups — to improve overall performance
- Work with the content team to build marketing assets —including standalone apps and websites— using vibe coding tools such as Lovable or Replit
Your Background
- 4+ years of experience in web analytics and technical marketing
- Working knowledge of how to create webhooks using Zapier
- Hands-on experience with GA4 and GTM
- Comfortable using website crawling tools such as Screaming Frog
- Experience using SEO software (SEMrush) and analyzing data
- Hands-on experience managing end-to-end CRO workstreams to optimize site performance and user journeys
- Understanding of how to separate signal from noise and know what to prioritize for business impact
- This role has no inherited playbook; must be comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out along the way
