Why Consider a Home Care Job in Brisbane?

Brisbane is the capital of Queensland, the second largest state in Australia, and one of Australia’s fastest-growing cities. People are drawn to this growing port city because it offers great job opportunities, affordable living and a favourable property market, an enviable relaxed lifestyle, ideal weather, and plenty of green spaces. No surprise Brisbane is one of the world’s top 10 most liveable cities according to The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index, and its nearly two and a half million residents would agree.

Brisbane is home to several commercial districts including the Trade Coast area with both the Brisbane Airport and the Port of Brisbane, the Central Business district, and the South West Industrial Gateway that serves South East Queensland. The large international shipping port provides many jobs in the logistical and distribution sector, but healthcare, manufacturing, scientific and technical services, and educational institutions are the top-ranking employers of the city.

Many of Australia’s largest companies are headquartered in Brisbane, including banking institutions, insurance corporations, retail businesses, real estate, and property management companies. There are also a variety of multinational professional services firms to provide essential support functions for these businesses.

Like many cities around the globe, Brisbane is facing a shortage of suitably skilled workers in many of these industries. This economic dynamic creates endless job opportunities, a thriving employment market, and explains why Brisbane enjoys Australia’s highest employment rate.

Residents of this capital city benefit from a thriving economy and low cost of living. The average cost for a person to live comfortably, depending on the lifestyle, is much more affordable than in other comparable cities in Australia and around the world. Food, transportation, utilities, and housing are much less expensive. Many immigrants, students, young professionals, and families come to find a better quality of life.

Brisbane’s property market remains relatively cheap and offers a variety of areas in and around the city with amenities and prices to fit any budget. The northern suburbs offer safe and affordable housing suitable for families. The western suburbs are popular and close to the University of Queensland with cheap student housing options. The inner suburbs have older communities with good public schools and a vibrant culture. Apartment living close to the central business district is reasonably priced for quality living on a simple salary. It’s a buyer’s market providing a unique opportunity whether interested in renting, purchasing a home, or making a property investment.

Built on the banks of the Brisbane River this city offers a riverside lifestyle that is relaxed, informal, and known for its friendliness. The winding river provides scenic views, water recreation, and a unique way to travel the city by catamaran ferries. The TransLink integrated system of buses, trains, and ferries makes it easy to get around with a rechargeable Go Card. Combined with a modern road network, Brisbane can boast a relaxing and efficient commute.

Along with its diverse business and commerce, Brisbane enjoys a rich cosmopolitan art scene, with many galleries, museums, and performance venues. A busy calendar of multicultural fairs and festivals celebrates the diverse communities found here. In the city centre, you can enjoy the coffee and café culture or colourful dining with an international flair. Shop the Queens Street pedestrian mall with over 700 retailers, quaint boutiques, and the many weekend markets offering farm fresh produce. Always changing, Brisbane is becoming more modern and green. New restaurants, entertainment venues, and parks open regularly.

Brisbane is Australia’s only city to make the list on the Sustainability Cities Mobility Index with its spacious metropolitan area, vast green spaces, and solar energy innovations. With over 2,000 expansive green parks, gardens, and animal sanctuaries the outdoors is always nearby. Residents enjoy convenient access to hiking, biking, kayaking, rock climbing, and scuba diving experiences. Brisbane is proud to be home to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and the world-famous wildlife conservationist Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo.

The Queensland sun provides summer-like weather all year long. Sunscreen and wide-brimmed hats are always a good idea. Ideally situated halfway between the well-known Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, the fun and sun of sandy beaches are at your doorstep. Convenient weekend getaways offer more room to roam as you explore the many mountains, national parks, and islands of Queensland.

Brisbane is a safe, affordable city with plenty of space for newcomers to find that perfect place. With a thriving economy, plenty of jobs, and a lower cost of living, you can find bigger apartments and homes for less and still be close to work and all the amenities this city has to offer.
