Q.

Am I Locked Into A Contract?

A.

No, you are not locked into a contract.

We are a flexible service that offers as much as or as little care as you like, on any days and at any time that you choose.

We do ask you to sign an agreement which describes how we will deliver your service. This is legally required by The Aged Care Act.

You may cancel your agreement at any time without any penalty.

Q.

Will I Have The Same Carer Visiting Me Each Time?

A.

It is important that you like your Carer and establish a friendly rapport with them.

We will usually send you your preferred carer, but sometimes your Carer may not be available due to sickness or their leave arrangements. In this case, we will only make a substitution if you agree to it.

Q.

Will My Carer Come At The Same Time Each Day?

A.

That depends upon your care plan and your requirements.

If your preferred carer is available at the time you require them, then of course this will be arranged.

Q.

Will My Carer Be Available When I Need Them?

A.

Given sufficient notice, it can be scheduled for your preferred carer to be available.

If this is not possible, another qualified carer will be arranged to assist you, as long as you approve them.

Q.

How Much Does It Cost?

A.

Each individual case is unique.

During your Free Care Assessment and Consultation, your Care Manager will develop an individualised Care Plan with you and provide you with a Budget for required services.

Q.

Is There A Minimum Duration For A Care Visit?

A.

Yes, each Care Visit will be a minimum of 2 hours. This is to be fair to our Carers, as their Industrial Award requires them to have minimum shift lengths of 2 hours.

However, if your Carer agrees to do shorter shifts, this may then be arranged for you.

Q.

Do I Need To Pay Travel Costs For A Carer?

A.

No, your standard service charges already include any necessary travel costs.

Q.

What's Covered In My Care Assessment?

A.

One of our Care Managers or Registered Nurses will discuss with you:

  • Your individual care needs
  • Your lifestyle goals
  • A home safety risk assessment
  • Advice on how to best live independently
  • A personal Health Care Plan that our carers will follow each visit
Q.

How Quickly Can You Start?

A.

In an emergency, we are likely to be able to provide care the same day that you enquire.

A Registered Nurse will be required to attend as they need to complete an Assessment and Care Plan for your Health and Safety. The nurse will then immediately provide care as required.

Q.

Do I Need An ACAT Assessment?

A.

No you don't. The CareSide offers private pay services which do not need an assessment from the ACAT team.

ACAT stands for Aged Care Assessment Team and they operate out of your local hospital. They assess elderly Australians to decide what level of government subsidised in home care package to which they are entitled.

Q.

Is Your Service Really 24 Hours A Day?

A.

Yes. The 1300 85 40 80 number is a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week number. It is available for emergencies or after business hours enquiries.

You will be put through to one of our registered nurses if you need their assistance.
